UK Regulator Sends Law Firms Gag Order Warning Shot

Law360 (March 12, 2018, 2:06 PM EDT) -- Law firms cannot use nondisclosure agreements, known as NDAs or gag orders, to prevent reports of any type of professional misconduct to disciplinary authorities, including sexual harassment and assault, the Solicitors Regulation Authority on Monday warned law firms operating in the U.K.

The SRA sent lawyers a warning notice, reminding them that all potential professional misconduct by a person or law firm must be reported to regulators and NDAs should not be used to prevent those reports.
