Senate Confirms Texas Atty To Eastern District Judgeship

Law360 (May 14, 2019, 6:46 PM EDT) -- The Senate on Tuesday confirmed Orgain Bell & Tucker LLP partner Michael Truncale to serve as a judge in the Eastern District of Texas.

Later Tuesday, the Senate teed up the likely confirmation on Wednesday of Jenner & Block LLP partner Kenneth Kiyul Lee to serve on the Ninth Circuit.

Truncale was confirmed in a 49-46 vote, largely along party lines. Of the 95 senators who voted, Sen. Mitt Romney, R-Utah, was the only Republican to vote against Truncale’s confirmation. Every Democrat who voted also voted “no.”
