The Patent Trial and Appeal Board has terminated reviews of two regulatory monitoring patents challenged by RPX Corp., finding the challenges were time-barred because the petitioner failed to mention its client Salesforce was a real party in interest.

In a first-of-its-kind decision, the Patent Trial and Appeal Board has ordered Applications in Internet Time LLC to pay patent aggregator RPX Corp. more than $13,500 in attorneys' fees, after AIT was found to have improperly disclosed confidential information.
