Ind. Gov. Signs Business Tax Cuts Into Law

Law360, New York (March 26, 2014, 1:16 PM EDT) -- Indiana Gov. Mike Pence on Tuesday signed into law a bill that slashed the corporate income tax rate in Indiana to 4.9 percent and lowered the state’s personal property tax on certain business equipment.

The new law drops Indiana's corporate income tax rate, currently at 7.5 percent, from a scheduled 6.5 percent in 2015 to 4.9 percent by June 2021, and gives counties options to exempt new business equipment from personal property tax with an exemption for companies with less than $20,000 in equipment, and a...
