Cravath Vet Massad Named TARP Chief Counsel

Law360, New York (May 6, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Longtime Cravath Swaine & Moore LLP partner Timothy G. Massad will leave the firm to become chief counsel for the U.S. Department of the Treasury's Troubled Asset Relief Program amid growing pressure for increased transparency of federal bailout funds.

Massad — who has worked at Cravath since completing law school in 1984 — will leave Cravath on May 16 to join the Treasury Department, the firm said Wednesday.
