MoFo Attorney Tapped For High-Ranking WIPO Role

Law360 (May 7, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- James Pooley, a partner in Morrison & Foerster LLP's Palo Alto, Calif., office, has been nominated by the Obama administration to become deputy director general of patents at the World Intellectual Property Organization.

Pooley said he learned of the nomination Monday, when he was contacted by the White House liaison.

His tenure, pending approval by the WIPO member states, is scheduled to begin in November.
