Suit Against Chavez Says Citgo Aided Terrorists

Law360, New York (May 11, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A putative class action accusing left-wing Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez of aiding terrorist groups the Taliban, al-Qaida and the FARC will add Citgo Petroleum Corp. as a defendant, the plaintiffs' lawyer has said.

The founder of Freedom Watch, Larry Klayman, announced on Monday that he would add the Venezuelan oil company to the purported class action.

He expected to file an amended complaint later that day in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
