APEC Endorses Anti-Piracy Paper

Law360, New York (October 19, 2003, 12:00 AM EDT) -- APEC ministers endorsed on Saturday a paper outlining policies to battle piracy in the region, the Kyodo News Service reported.

Titled "The comprehensive strategy on IPR in APEC," the paper details how APEC economies will coordinate their efforts to reduce piracy and counterfeiting in the region, according to the report.

The paper proposes ways to boost knowledge exchange in the region and calls for the training of IPR enforcement personnel, including police, customs and courts, through on-the-job training workshops and the dispatch of experts.
