Indiana University Sues Merck Over Patents For Papilloma Vaccine

Law360, New York (February 24, 2004, 12:00 AM EST) -- Indiana University has filed a lawsuit against German drug maker Merck & Co., seeking to add a university scientist as an author to patents for vaccines against the human papilloma virus with a projected market value of $2 billion.

The university, along with its Advanced Research and Technology Institute, filed a lawsuit on Feb. 20 in federal court in Indianapolis against Merck & Co. Inc. and Merck & Co. Ltd.
