'All In One' Can't Be Trademark, TTAB Tells Hand Dryer Co.

Law360 (March 5, 2018, 9:18 PM EST) -- The Trademark Trial and Appeal Board refused Friday to allow “All In One” to be registered as a trademark for hand dryers, ruling it a descriptive phrase that cannot be monopolized by a single company.

Excel Dryers, the company behind the popular Xlerator bathroom dryers, had applied to register the phrase as a trademark for “electric wall-mounted hand dryers,” but the board said the term was “merely descriptive” for those goods.
