Bill Calls For Clear Labels For Health Insurance

Law360, New York (May 15, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Sen. Jay Rockefeller, D-W.Va., has introduced a bill aimed at making health insurance policies more user-friendly with standardized language and clear labels for consumers that describe the key details of health care coverage plans.

The Informed Consumer Choices in Health Care Act of 2009, introduced Thursday, would create a uniform, easy to decipher label for health insurance companies to use, designed to be as easy to read as the nutritional label on a box of cereal, the Senator said in a statement.
