$52M Damages Pared In Siemens Scanner Patent Suit

Law360 (May 18, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal judge has slashed over $7 million from a $52.3 million damages award granted to a Siemens AG unit in a patent infringement suit against a Cie. de Saint-Gobain SA subsidiary over a patent on medical-imaging scanner technology.

In an order handed down Friday, Judge Sue L. Robinson of the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware lowered the infringement damages award to $44.9 million after finding that Siemens Medical Solutions USA Inc. could not prove that 18 of the 79 allegedly infringing scanners...
