House Votes To Create Independent Review Board For Banks

Law360, Washington (March 15, 2018, 6:09 PM EDT) -- The House of Representatives passed a pair of measures altering financial institution rules Thursday, creating an independent board to review agency actions and altering Regulation A+ securities offerings.

The Financial Institutions Examination Fairness and Reform Act, which would create an independent appeals process for agency inspections and other determinations, passed on a 283-133 vote, and the Regulation A+ Improvement Act of 2017, which would increase the cap for certain securities offerings, passed on a 246-170 vote, both taking place Thursday.
