Neb. Insurers Not Liable For Claims V. Broker: Court

Law360, New York (May 19, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Nebraska’s highest court has dismissed claims from a group of state residents who sued the Nebraska Life and Health Insurance Guaranty Association to recover funds invested in Future First Financial Group Inc., an insolvent viatical settlements broker.

The Supreme Court of Nebraska affirmed a lower court ruling on Friday in favor of the defendants, finding that Future First was not a member of the Guaranty and therefore the association had no duty to cover claims against the broker.
