FTC Clarifies Contact Lens Competition Rules

Law360 (September 15, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A Federal Trade Commission official testified Friday that the agency would enforce the Fairness to Contact Lens Consumer Act, along with the Contact Lens Rule, which tracks the act’s provisions.

Maureen Ohlhausen, the director of the FTC’s Office of Policy Planning, told the U.S. House of Representatives Subcommittee on Commerce, Trade, and Consumer Protection that the commission would try to avoid filing charges related to the act, but that it would do so when necessary.
