Panel Clears Florida Judge Of Racial Bias Allegations

Law360, New York (September 17, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- After a yearlong investigation into accusations against Broward Circuit Judge Eileen O’Connor for ethical misconduct when she applied for an opening on the bench, the Judicial Qualifications Commission has voted to dismiss a complaint involving, among other things, accusations of workplace discrimination.

The JQC, an independent regulatory agency that monitors judges, said on August 24 it found no basis to file ethics charges against O’Connor, but provided no explanation as to how it arrived at the opinion.
