Consovoy McCarthy Will Represent Trump In Emoluments Suit
Law360 (March 30, 2018, 7:16 PM EDT) -- Consovoy McCarthy Park PLLC announced on Friday that it will represent President Donald Trump in a Maryland federal lawsuit alleging his undivested business interests violate the U.S. Constitution, specifically emoluments clauses that bar gifts or payments from foreign powers.
The suit, filed by the attorneys general of the District of Columbia and Maryland, concerns Trump's involvement in the luxury Trump International Hotel near the White House, where foreign diplomats have flocked since the election in search of getting in Trump’s good graces, according to the suit.
