EU Parliament Set To Vote On New Money Laundering Law

Law360, London (April 16, 2018, 12:22 PM BST) -- Politicians will vote Thursday on whether to adopt stricter European Union rules aimed at safeguarding the bloc from money laundering and terrorist financing after the laws were informally agreed by the European Parliament and Council.

The new directive will help prevent the EU’s financial system from being used to fund criminal activities if members of the European Parliament vote in favor, the Parliament said. The legislation is designed to stop criminals concealing funds and ensure that companies and trusts are more transparent about who owns them....
