Bid To Revive $12M Bad Faith Suit V. AIU Fails

Law360, New York (May 27, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal judge in Florida has rejected a furniture maker's bid to revive a $12 million bad faith lawsuit against AIU Insurance Co. over a settlement with a woman who was paralyzed after falling from a folding chair into a dry lake bed.

Judge Susan Bucklew of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida on Friday denied a motion by Shin Crest Pte Ltd. and other plaintiffs to vacate the summary judgment ruling in favor of AIU.
