Wash. Wins Access To DOL Docs In Prison Pay Case

Law360 (May 28, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Throwing the state of Washington a bone in a discovery spat with the U.S. Department of Labor, a federal judge has ruled that the state has a right to access most materials from a federal probe into its pay practices for state Department of Corrections employees.

Judge Robert Bryan of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington on Wednesday mostly granted Washington's motion to compel discovery information, largely rejecting the Labor Department's argument that most of those materials were privileged.
