Fed Circ. Affirms Noninfringement Ruling For Yamaha

Law360 (May 28, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Yamaha Motor Corp. USA Inc. has prevailed over rival Boss Industries in a snowmobile seat patent spat, after a federal appeals court upheld the district court's claims construction.

In a decision issued Thursday by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, appellate judges upheld the claims construction of the lower court. The case hinged on the construction of two terms — "base section" and "adjacent" — and both went Yamaha's way.
