Conn. House Passes Paid Sick Leave Bill

Law360, New York (May 29, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The Connecticut House of Representatives has approved legislation that would make the state the first to mandate that large businesses provide paid sick leave to their employees.

In an 88-58 vote, the House on Thursday passed through the measure requiring employers with at least 50 workers to offer them a minimum of one hour of paid sick leave per 40 hours of work, up to five days of paid sick time a year.
