Feds' Bid To Stay CSK Auto Exec Fraud Suit Denied

Law360, New York (June 1, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A district judge has denied the federal government’s bid to stay the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s civil case against four former executives of CSK Auto Corp., who were accused of fraudulently overstating the auto parts retailer’s pretax income, while a criminal case proceeds.

Although Judge G. Murray Snow granted the government’s motion to intervene in proceedings in the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona on Wednesday, he ruled that postponing the civil case would unnecessarily harm the defendants.
