New Trial Denied In Takata Seat Belt Suit

Law360, New York (June 1, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A three-judge panel for the New Mexico Court of Appeals has nixed a bid by two plaintiffs suing seat belt maker Takata Corp. to force a new trial on claims that a faulty buckle failed during a car accident, upholding a unanimous 2006 verdict that cleared Takata from liability in the case.
