FDA Takes Step Toward Increased Transparency

Law360, New York (June 2, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. Food and Drug Administration is developing a task force aimed at making the agency's decision-making processes more transparent, potentially increasing the information released related to drug and medical device approvals, or enforcement actions.

As part of the effort, the FDA said Tuesday that it would hold a public meeting on June 24 to collect suggestions on how it can present clear information to the public on its decisions in a more accessible way.
