Brokers Plead With FCA For Respite From More New Rules

Law360, London (May 16, 2018, 2:30 PM BST) -- The U.K.’s top insurance brokers’ lobby on Wednesday urged the Financial Conduct Authority not to place any new demands on the industry, saying it is already struggling within “one of the most burdensome and costly regulatory regimes on the planet.”

Addressing delegates at the British Insurance Brokers’ Association’s annual conference in Manchester, the lobby’s chief executive, Steve White, said the FCA continues to pump out time-consuming and unnecessary proposals, despite the fact that insurers are trying to keep up with the U.K.'s already tough-as-nails regulatory environment....
