Law360, New York (June 4, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal appeals court’s decision that upheld most of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office’s rules putting new restrictions on patent applicants improperly expands the agency’s authority and threatens to stifle innovation, according to two petitions calling for a review of the controversial Tafas v. Doll ruling.
