Hamburg Exchange Would Securitize, Trade Patent Rights

Law360 (March 2, 2004, 12:00 AM EST) -- The Hamburg Stock Exchange is considering an innovative plan to trade patent rights, according to a published report.

The plan would allow patent rights to trade like other securities such as stocks, BAG Boersen Chairman Thomas Ledermann told the German edition of the Financial Times.

The new market could have a turnover of billions of euros, according to estimates.
