Groups Challenge Power Lines For SD Coal Plant

Law360, New York (June 5, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Environmental advocates have asked a Minnesota appellate court to overturn a decision by state authorities approving the construction of two new power lines to deliver power from a controversial planned coal plant in South Dakota.

A coalition of five environmental groups, led by the Minnesota Center for Environmental Advocacy, filed a petition Friday in the Minnesota Court of Appeals alleging that the state's Public Utilities Commission violated state law when it approved the construction of the power lines in January.
