HCA Denies Claims Of Anti-Competitive Behavior

Law360, New York (September 21, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Hospital chain HCA Inc. has vehemently denied allegations of anti-competitive practices levied by health care provider UnitedHealth Group Inc. in a lawsuit filed earlier this week.

UnitedHealth filed the suit on Monday, accusing the company of tying a contract for imaging services to negotiations over reimbursement rates. The company also accused HCA of discouraging nurses from helping UnitedHealth patients in HCA hospitals.
