Widow's Suit Over Wyeth Arthritis Drug Tossed

Law360, New York (June 9, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal judge has thrown out a widow’s claims that her late husband’s death was prematurely caused by Wyeth’s generic arthritis medication etodolac, which she alleged was contaminated with a selective beta blocker.

Chief Judge Yvette Kane of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania granted the pharmaceutical company’s summary judgment bid on June 2, finding that Virginia Dick had failed to support her claims that the drug caused or contributed to her husband Charles’ alleged injuries and eventual death.
