Jones Day Sued Over Alleged Gender Bias, 'Fraternity Culture'

Law360 (June 19, 2018, 10:22 PM EDT) -- A former Jones Day partner sued the firm in California court Tuesday for allegedly treating women as “second-class citizens,” providing preferential treatment to men and firing her for speaking out against its alleged “fraternity culture.”

Attorney Wendy Moore claimed in a representative action that Jones Day promotes a “boys' club” culture, in which male partners — who hold the majority of leadership and management positions at the firm — provide greater support and mentorship to men, as opposed to their female counterparts.
