Crypto Insiders Want Clearer Regulation Of Their Industry

Law360 (June 26, 2018, 8:16 PM EDT) -- Most cryptocurrency executives and investors favor government regulation of their own industry, hoping that a clearer set of rules will resolve legal uncertainties that continue to hang over the nascent sector, according to survey results released Tuesday by law firm Foley & Lardner LLP.

The industry's desire for regulation may seem surprising given the libertarian leanings of the cryptocurrency community; digital currency leader bitcoin grew out of a desire to create a currency that would operate independent of central bank regulators.
