Olympus Sued Over Slide Scanner Patent

Law360 (June 10, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Drawing a bead on rival digital pathology companies, Aperio Technologies Inc. has accused Hamamatsu Corp. and Olympus America Inc. of infringing three patents covering microscope slide-scanning technology.

The complaint, lodged Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware, claims Hamamatsu’s NanoZoomer and RS Digital Pathology Systems distributed by Olympus infringe Aperio’s patents for glass-slide scanning and digitization.
