Bass Berry Cuts 32; O’Melveny Freezes Staff Pay

Law360 (June 10, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Tennessee-based firm Bass Berry & Sims PLC has reportedly laid off 32 employees, including 10 associates, and O’Melveny & Myers LLP announced that it was freezing staff salaries until July 2010 as more and more firms attempt to cope with a dismal economy.

Bass Berry made the cuts on Tuesday, reducing its staff in its Nashville, Memphis and Knoxville offices, The Nashville Business Journal reported Wednesday.
