Pilots Union Takes Issue With Airline Alliance

Law360, New York (June 10, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- United Airlines' pilots union has asked President Barack Obama to step in and prevent Continental Airlines Inc. from taking part in a global airline alliance that receives antitrust immunity until broader labor protections can be added.

United's parent company, UAL Corp., and Continental had previously filed an application for Continental to join the Star Alliance, which would allow the two air carriers to collaborate among themselves and with other airlines on pricing and on coordinating certain routes.
