Roche Diagnostics Sues Rivals Over Blood Glucose Monitors

Law360, New York (March 4, 2004, 12:00 AM EST) -- Roche Diagnostics Corp. has sued four companies it claims infringed on two of its patents on a blood glucose monitor.

The lawsuit, filed in U.S. District Court in Indianapolis, names Apex Biotechnology Corp., Taiwan; Hypoguard USA, Edina, Minn.; Medline Industries, Mundelein, Ill.; and Home Diagnostics, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

The complaint alleges that the use and sale of the Assure family of blood glucose monitoring system products, which includes Assure, Assure II and Assure 3, infringe two patents owned by Roche.
