By Tom Zanki (July 11, 2018, 8:14 PM EDT) -- The U.S. House of Representatives on Tuesday passed two bills aimed at improving capital formation for smaller companies, one of which would allow for the creation of venture exchanges and another that aims to improve research coverage for lesser-known companies.
The Main Street Growth Act would amend the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 to allow for the registration of venture exchanges, which would provide trading venues tailored for the smaller companies whose stocks are considered less liquid than those of larger companies. The bill, H.R. 5877, passed by voice vote and now heads to the Senate, where it can be revised....
