Disclosure Loopholes Hide Nanotech Risks: Report

Law360, New York (June 16, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Loopholes in corporate disclosure and accounting rules are keeping investors in the dark about the potential liability companies face from the growing use of nanotechnologies, according to a new report from the Investor Environmental Health Network.

The report, released Tuesday, warns that weak regulations governing disclosure of liabilities could result in billions of dollars in asbestoslike litigation risks for nanotechnology companies and investors.
