Wash. Port Demands Help With Superfund Cleanup

Law360, New York (June 16, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The Port of Tacoma, Wash., is demanding that a handful of other parties pay up, looking to recover some of the money that it has shelled out for the cleanup of a Washington Superfund site.

On Wednesday, the port filed its second amended complaint in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington for contribution under the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act, commonly known as the Superfund law and designed to mop up hazardous waste sites.
