Autodesk, SIIA Targeted In Software Copyright Spat
Law360 (June 17, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Agricultural equipment company Applied Electronics Corp. has filed a declaratory judgment suit against Autodesk Inc. and the Software & Information Industry Association, looking to stave off possible copyright infringement claims over Autodesk software and alleging that the defendants ran afoul of the Sherman Act.
Applied Electronics, AEC Enterprises Inc. and Agro Globe Engineering Inc. — which the complaint says are under common control and are based in Iowa — lodged the suit in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Iowa on Tuesday after negotiations with the SIIA broke down.
