Ethicon Ex-Employee Enjoined In Patent Spat

Law360, New York (June 18, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal judge has ruled that a former employee of Johnson & Johnson unit Ethicon Endo-Surgery Inc. cannot sell or license certain patent applications for ultrasonic surgical blade technology now that a jury has handed down a $2.1 million damages award to the company.

Judge Michael R. Barrett granted Ethicon's motion on Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio, issuing a temporary injunction that remains in effect until the court decides who will get the patent application titles.
