FWS Agrees To Issue Finding On Pocket Gopher

Law360, New York (June 18, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has promised to review a petition seeking to name the Wyoming pocket gopher an endangered species in order to resolve a suit brought by the Center for Native Ecosystems and the Biodiversity Conservation Alliance.

Filed Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado, the settlement agreement calls for the FWS to file a 12-month finding for the gopher species in the Federal Register by 2010. The environmental groups agreed to dismiss their action with prejudice in exchange...
