Law360 (August 9, 2018, 7:10 PM EDT) -- Pennsylvania’s Supreme Court declined to take up a case over reinsurance coverage on asbestos claims, letting a trial court’s nearly $8 million judgment against OneBeacon Insurance Co. stand.
The state’s highest court denied OneBeacon’s petition for allowance of appeal Tuesday. A lower appellate court, the Superior Court, had previously affirmed a Philadelphia trial court’s decision to make OneBeacon pay Century Indemnity Co. and Pacific Employers Insurance Co. a total of $7.99 million in addition to the $11 million OneBeacon had already forked over.
An attorney for OneBeacon declined to comment Thursday.
