1st Circ. Lets Esso Off Hook For Cleanup — For Now

Law360, New York (June 20, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Finding that the lower court assigned responsibility too hastily, a federal appeals court has vacated an injunction requiring Esso Standard Oil Co. to clean up contamination caused by leaky underground storage tanks in Puerto Rico, but left intact an ordered environmental assessment of the site.
