By Hunter Qiu (August 21, 2018, 2:14 PM EDT) -- On July 30, 2018, the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China, or MOFCOM, released a proposed amendment to the Administrative Measures for Strategic Investment by Foreign Investors in Listed Companies — enacted by MOFCOM, the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC), the State Administration of Taxation (SAT), the State Administration of Industries and Commerce (SAIC) and the State Administration of Foreign Exchange (SAFE) on Dec. 31, 2005, as amended in 2015 (the "measures") — soliciting public comments. The draft amendment would substantially ease restrictions on foreign investments in listed companies in China....
