Fla. Appeals Court Blocks Mylan’s Generic Synthroid

Law360, New York (June 23, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A Florida appellate court has held that state pharmacists cannot substitute Mylan Pharmaceuticals Inc.’s generic drug for Abbott Laboratories’ brand-name thyroid treatment Synthroid, finding that federal approval of a generic copycat does not override a state law barring the substitution of certain drugs.
