Obama Calls On House To Approve Energy Bill

Law360, New York (June 23, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- With a vote on the energy and climate change bill expected later this week, President Barack Obama has urged the U.S. House of Representatives to find common ground and pass through the legislation, saying it is “extraordinarily important for our country.”

The president endorsed the measure at a Tuesday press conference and said it would be instrumental in creating millions of new jobs, reducing dependence on foreign oil and curbing carbon dioxide pollution.
