Inventor Loses Patent Case Against DaimlerChrysler

Law360 (September 26, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal judge in Maryland has thrown out a patent suit against a subsidiary of DaimlerChrysler, ruling that a patent for a roof-mounted aerodynamic drag reducer for tractor-trailers is invalid because it was used in public more than a year before the effective date of an adequate patent application.
