Nationwide Seeks To Deny Payout For Sex Bias Suits

Law360, New York (June 24, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Nationwide Mutual Insurance Co. has filed suit claiming $8 million in insurance policies held by two Famous Dave's franchises do not require the insurer to cover the costs of defending the restaurants in seven sex discrimination suits.

Nationwide lodged an amended complaint Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia for declaratory judgment that the four insurance policies in question exclude coverage and indemnification related to claims based on sexual harassment.
